Our Story
Back in 2004, our founder was spending his weekends DJing at corporate events and weddings.
It was while lugging his records, CDs and decks from gig to gig that he recognised the need for a compact solution for DJs. The digital era was approaching and some DJs were already switching from from CDs to MP3 files on laptops.
Problems with overheating, inferior sound quality, lack of disc space juggling a nest of cables were commonplace. Plans were put in place to develop the OODJ which would be able to carry a massive selection of songs in a portable unit and would be aimed directly at DJ and entertainment professionals.
Thus Computer DJ Ltd was born in September 2004, opening a factory in Hull initially with three employees to take the design from prototype into production, following a successful preview of the prototype at PLASA 2004.

The MKII 00DJ
Where did the name come from? When showing the prototype machine at PLASA 2004 some Japanese visitors loved it and shouted "Aha! Is James Bond!" ... and from that point "00DJ" it was!
The 00DJ went on public sale in March 2005, having three revisions to the design as technology improved, cumulating in the "MKIII" version with a 500Gb internal hard drive until the model's retirement in 2010.
The company enjoys steady growth and in 2007, Valeway Technology was created to house the growing portfolio of other successful brands such as PCDJ and Q-THIS. The company now employs a team of nine people.
Despite growing and diverisfying the company still focuses on personal service. The staff all believe in what the company is doing and are very dedicated - it's an interesting place to work!
